First Swim Lesson? Yay! Here's what to Expect.

Arrival
For your first lesson, try to arrive around 15 minutes early. This gives you time to meet the Deck Manager, look around, and help your kiddo get comfortable. After that, just coming 5-10 minutes early is usually perfect. We'll help you feel right at home at OWA!

What To Pack
Here's what we recommend to pack for swim lesson days – we'll cover the rest! Just bring your swimmer and their fun energy!
• Swimsuit
• Swim Cap
• Change of Clothes
• Goggles
• Towel
What To Pack – Baby & Me Lessons
If you're enrolled in a Baby & Me class, you'll be hopping in too! Don't forget a swimsuit, towel, and change of clothes for yourself. Your baby won't need a swim cap or goggles, but they will need:
• Swimsuit
• Towel
• Change of Clothes
• Reusable Swim Diaper
Pro Baby & Me Tip: Pre-dress your baby before lessons! Put on your swimsuits at home and wear clothes on top. In addition, swim diapers don't catch pee! To prevent accidents, put a disposable diaper under swim diapers for travel and take off the disposable before hopping in!
When You Arrive
When you enter the pool door at OWA, you'll be greeted by one of our Deck Managers. They'll be able to answer any questions you may have and they can direct you to our bathrooms to get changed and ready before your lesson!
After you've finished changing, please find a seat in our Parent Waiting Room. You're welcome to step onto the pool deck a few minutes before your class starts. If you're unsure of who your student's instructor is, this is a great time to locate them with help from our Deck Managers.

During Your Lesson
Not joining your student in the pool – no problem! Parents are welcome to watch their student in our Parent Waiting Room. While you're relaxing, your student will be having a blast while building valuable skills with the help of our amazing instructors. Reminder: A parent is required to stay on the premises during your student's entire lesson.
After Your Lesson
Once your student wraps up their lesson, head to the showers in the bathroom to rinse off the pool water. Please don't use soaps in our showers – it can get slippery and cause falls! Once you've dried off and changed, you're free to go. We hope you and your student enjoy every lesson with us at OWA!
